Hands on structures

There are a whole range of hands on activities linking maths and science to investigate structures at both the macro and micro level.

Go to the Structures menu to find out more.

Menu of Activities.

Team building

Build a giant pyramid – the success of this activity hinges on teamwork. It provides a non-competitive approach to team building. Everyone begins as an individual, then in a team of two, and so on, until by the end everyone has contributed. The giant pyramid becomes a symbol of their teamwork. (and they always like having their pictures taken inside!)

Cartesian divers

Make n Take suitable for smaller groups or drop-in. Materials and guidance are provided to enable children to make their own Cartesian Diver and to experiment in order to gain a better understanding of concepts like gravity, buoyancy etc

Kaleidoscopes

Make n Take suitable for smaller groups or drop-in. Materials and guidance are provided to enable children to make their own kaleidoscope using plastic mirror and to experiment to gain a better understanding of light and reflection
